Call it what it is, Cauliflower!

Not meatless wings, cauliflower "rice", or cauliflower "potato" salad. Its cauliflower! Why can we not accept and appreciate it for what it is? It is a wonderful veggie, and because of its very subtle flavor, can be prepared in so many ways that are absolutely delicious!

One of my favorite is sticky sesame cauliflower (or you may know them as cauliflower wings). But no matter which way you turn it, I don't see wings on a cauliflower. A head yes, but no wings. If you ever see a flying cauliflower (and I don't mean one that has been thrown at you by your 3 year old because he doesn't want to eat his veggies) please let me know! I would love to be proved wrong on this!

Calling it rice or wings just puts unrealistic expectations on it, and these Sticky Sesame Cauliflower Bites are anything but boring! They are outstanding! It is my new favorite way to eat cauliflower! So much in fact that the other night, it was the only thing that I ate for dinner. I had planned on making rice and shrimp to go along with it. But after tasting one, I didn't really see the need for it.

The best part, is they were so quick and easy to make! They make a great vegetarian appetizer, side dish, or add shrimp and serve over rice for a full meal!

I am not saying that you should not substitute, chicken or potatoes for cauliflower. If you enjoy it, all the power to you! It is always great to incorporate more veggies into your diet. Just be aware that cauliflower does not provide the protein that chicken would, therefore cauliflower would not be a good protein substitute for a meal. Try tossing in some chickpease, or serving it over cooked quinoa to make it a good source of plant-based protein. Lastly, don't expect it to taste like chicken or rice! Expect it to taste like cauliflower, and love it for what it is!
